Point Reyes Station, CA
When: Sunday, October 17, 4:00 - 6:00pm
Where: Dance Palace, 503 B Street Join our friends from the Marin Resource Conservation District in sharing Marin County's farm family histories. Local historian Dewey Livingston, in collaboration with the Marin RCD, has completed the first installment of the Marin Oral History Project. Through more than 20 individual family member interviews, he has captured the history and tradition of five central MarinCounty farm families in illustrated transcripts. Please plan to attend an introduction to these wonderful stories including a paneldiscussion, moderated by Sally Gale, with participants from the Corda, Grossi, Dolcini, McDonald, and McIsaac families. Many of these familes have protected their farmland through MALT conservation easements, and the panelists will share their family origins, how and why they came to be in California and Marin, and changes and evolutions in family life and agricultural production over the generations. The event is free. RSVP to Nancy Scolari at the Marin RCD, 415-663-1170.
