Announcements: From Week Thirteen, 5/4/11

Announcements. Shooting Star CSA out of Fairfield will be holding an open house. This Saturday, May 7th. Matt Mccue and Lilly Schneider are hosting. Matt is a returned Iraqi vet who became a great farmer, supporting many families through the CSA. Visit them online at http://shootingstarcsa.com You may want to couple this with the visit to the Edible schoolyard’s open house on the same date in Berkeley.

Reminder about the upcoming Women and Toolz being housed by classmate Jessie on May 22nd, see the previous posting in the Farm Blog.

The Farm made over $3,300 from the weekend plant sale. They still have plants available and of course for sale.

Sharon Jones mentioned Stone Barns in Terrytown NY. They are connected Blue Hill Restaurant and is a renown educational and farming center. They have 8 month internships available for aspiring farmers.

Wendy stated that Green Gulch now has nine new apprentices for their meditation and gardening endeavors. One is from near the saved city of Cairo where the current flooding of farmland took place on the Mississippi.
